Concept: A seasonal paperweight, humorously twisting the codes of end of the year celebrations by reinterpreting them in a contemporary way. A surprising object that, when turned upside down, becomes a kaleidoscope that sublimates the Saint-Louis vintage and pays homage to our childhood toy. A tribute to the factory, the dense coniferous forest surrounding it and the white flowers lining the forest floor, otherwise known as the "masters of the forest". Finally, a nod to the tradition of the Christmas tree, deeply rooted in Eastern France, the "land of crystal", the cradle of Saint-Louis.

Konzept: Ein saisonaler Briefbeschwerer, der die Bräuche der Feierlichkeiten zum Jahresende humorvoll verdreht, indem er sie zeitgemäß neu interpretiert. Ein überraschendes Objekt, das auf den Kopf gestellt zu einem Kaleidoskop wird, das den Saint-Louis-Jahrgang sublimiert und eine Hommage an unser Kinderspielzeug darstellt. Eine Hommage an die Fabrik, den dichten Nadelwald, der sie umgibt, und die weißen Blumen, die den Waldboden säumen, auch bekannt als die „Meister des Waldes“. Schließlich eine Anspielung auf die Tradition des Weihnachtsbaums, die tief in Ostfrankreich verwurzelt ist, dem „Land des Kristalls“, der Wiege von Saint-Louis.

For 2017 Saint-Louis has assembled its most colourful crystal rods to create a rooster. The master glassmakers have crafted its plumage from 8 separate glass rods while its body is formed using a blowtorch technique that gives it a colourful, lively and spirited appearance. Proud and elegant, the rooster announces the first light of day.
The background is created by the macédoine technique.

The lotus leaves and flowers are delicately positioned against a background evoking water, produced by flannel grey and sky blue mass-coloured crystal. The leaves are sculpted with a blowtorch using chartreuse-green and green rods to give them a veined appearance. The three flowers are exquisitely crafted using the same technique to form a harmonious palette of colours: yellow for the pistil, combined with amethyst, purple and red for the petals. Delicate drops of dew are placed on each lotus blossom.

Legend has it that the height of the French Renaissance, a unicorn has tracked and hunted through the forests by knights, lords and dogs. Today all that remains of this mythical tale it is a series of tapestries. Saint-Louis drew inspiration from this story to create a fairytale paperweight.
Representing a pack of dogs, the millefiori background is composed of eight different coloured rods that were specifically produced for this paperweight with a black dog motif.
The blowtorch technique was used to fashion the unicorn and the forest, suggesting a fantastical realm. The white unicorn with twisted horn is adorned with a black and white name. The realism of the chartreuse-green, green and brown trees contrasts with mythical creature.

Drawing on the millefiori technique, the decor of the Starry Night paperweight plays out against a sky blue crystal backdrop. Its twinkling background is made from an array of glass rods - some black and white, some others white and green - that have been carefully arranged using tweezers to form a constellation.
With delicacy and simply, Saint-Louis recreated a night under the stars.
